ABOUT

When you travel anywhere in the world the one thing that can make the difference between a good trip and a fantastic one is having a local friend that points out the little known secrets of a place, shares his lifetime experiences and transforms your experience from one of a tourist to one of a local.

Valbruna Travel was created to be your "local friend" in the areas that we love and know well, our hometowns of Valbruna, Italy and Vail, Colorado.

We hope you will have an opportunity to come visit us in either Vail or Valbruna!

Valbruna Inn — The Valbruna Inn is a small hotel on Valbruna’s main street in the heart of the Julian Alps. We are a group of lifetime friends that in 1999 decided to remodel an old building, which was part of the history of the Valbruna village since 1951 when Egidio Kail opened the Pensione Keil in the old family house next to the church in the heart of the village.

Minturn Inn The Minturn Inn is a charming B&B on Main Street in the historic Colorado town of Minturn. It is ideally located between Vail and Beaver Creek, just five miles to either resort. The Minturn Inn is an historic 1915 homestead with the warmth and atmosphere of an old cabin in the mountains. The 9 rooms feature modern amenities, antique furnishings and fine linens creating a relaxing and cozy retreat when visiting the Vail Valley and exploring the Rockies.

Hotel Minturn Hotel Minturn is a boutique hotel located in Minturn, Colorado, the historic town of the Vail Valley. Minturn is ideally situated between Vail and Beaver Creek, just five miles to either resort. The downtown location of Hotel Minturn is a short walk to the Minturn Mile ski trail and just steps to all the restaurants and shops. The rooms of Hotel Minturn are furnished in a clean, contemporary style with high-end finishes, fine linens and modern amenities.

Cortina di Ampezzo — Cortina d’Ampezzo is a ski resort in northern Italy. It’s part of the Dolomiti Superski area, which encompasses the Falzarego Pass, with its downhill runs. Sites from the 1956 Winter Games held in Cortina include the Ice Stadium, the Eugenio Monti bobsleigh run and the disused ski jump Trampolino Olimpico Italia. The Tofane area is the site of an Annual Women’s Ski World Cup race. Cortina will also be hosting to 2021 FIS World Alpine Ski Championships.

Tarviso — Tarvisiano is the mountainous area surrounding the commune of Tarvisio, which has just a few thousand inhabitants. Located in the far north-eastern corner of Italy, at the border with Austria and Slovenia, this area is a real paradise for sports-enthusiasts. The topology of the place and its particularly dry climate mean that it's a great place for indulging in a whole host of activities, some of which you might never have imagined!

Press & REVIEWS

"We have done our share of traveling and this was simply one of the best trips we have ever taken.  The food was exquisite, the wine was superb, the country was breathtaking, the skiing was outstanding but, best of all was your hospitality.  As Pat said many times, you were born to do this." — Larry & Pat Stewart - Ski Trip

"Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Our two days in Valbruna were the highlight of our trip to northern Italy and Austria. The mountains are beautiful, the people in town are warm and friendly, the Inn is fantastic, and the staff is great. The Valbruna Inn is first class." — Matt Novak

"The mountains of your Italy are beautiful and the food and wine were outstanding. However, most of all, your thoughtfulness and kindness to all of us made it a week beyond compare." — Dalton & Jeanne - Ski Trip

"Wanted to just re-iterate what a marvelous trip both Amanda & I had with all of you in Italy. As I said to Chris, the skiing was marvelous, every day was a new adventure, the trip was well organized and the food/wine/grappa was something to cherish." — Megan Frigon and Amanda Precourt - Ski Trip
